I’m Daniel Choe: a writer, filmmaker, and skateboarder based in Southern California. 96×96 Praxis is where those parts of my work come together.
A lot of my writing starts away from a keyboard. I walk, skate, and dictate ideas into my phone: scenes, characters, questions, fragments that don’t belong anywhere yet. Speaking gives me room to discover what I mean before deciding how to organize it.
I’m interested in how people make meaning, how systems lose sight of the people they serve, and how a story can hold those questions without losing its human center.
Vent Translator grew out of a practical need: sometimes I need to talk before I know what I’m trying to say. It gives you a place to start messy, receive a proposed understanding, and correct what it missed. You remain the person who decides whether it captured your meaning.
For larger projects, I offer a Structural Pass: a focused look at notes, drafts, research, or a complicated problem to make the relationships, constraints, and emerging structure easier to see. We agree on scope and pricing before the work begins.
The point of building these tools is to make room for useful work, and for life beyond the work. Writing, filmmaking, skating, and curiosity are part of why I’m doing this.
